Different Bets on Horses

Win

Claiming a win bet means that the horse with the wager needs to finish in first position.

Place

A place bet involves a horse that completes the race in first or second place.

Show

A show bet requires a first, second or third placed finish in order to win.

Exacta

This bet predicts the 1st and 2nd placed horses in the right order.

Trifecta

This bet predicts the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed horses that finish the race in the right order.

Trifecta Box

This bet is placed on three horses that need to finish in the first three places, but in any order.

Trifecta Key

In this bet, three horses are chosen and a selected key horse needs to come in first position. Then the 2nd and 3rd places must be won by the other two horses although order is irrelevant here.

Superfecta

This bet predicts the 1st, 2nd 3rd and 4th positions in order to win the bet.

Superfecta Box

This bet is placed on four horses that need to finish in the first four places, but in any order.

Superfecta Key

In this bet, four horses are chosen and a selected key horse needs to come in first position. Then the 2nd, 3rd and 4th places must be won by the other three horses although order is irrelevant here.

Quinella

This bet is placed on two horses that need to complete the race in 1st and 2nd positions, irrelevant of the order between the two horses.
